Job Summary Unite Contracting is seeking skilled and dedicated Commercial Plumbers to join our new construction and maintenance team in Hammond, Louisiana. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial plumbing systems across various commercial projects. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of construction plumbing, blueprint reading, and mechanical systems, ensuring all work complies with safety standards and industry regulations. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your expertise in pipe threading, welding, and system troubleshooting to deliver high-quality results efficiently. Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in new construction, remodels, and maintenance projects across commercial and residential sites. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute plumbing layouts. Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and pipe threading machines with precision. Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to support installation processes. Conduct system inspections to identify issues related to HVAC, mechanical components, or piping infrastructure. Collaborate with carpenters, HVAC technicians, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution. Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and materials used for project records. Follow safety protocols rigorously to ensure a secure working environment on all construction sites. Skills Extensive experience in construction plumbing and general construction site work. Proficiency in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and mechanical knowledge. Skilled in welding, pipe threading, assembly, remodeling, and maintenance tasks. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, heavy lifting techniques, and schematics. Knowledge of HVAC systems and their integration within plumbing infrastructure. Ability to perform basic math calculations relevant to measurements and material estimations. A valid driver's license is a plus for site mobility. Strong problem-solving skills combined with handyman experience for versatile field service tasks. Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively. Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in dynamic environments. This position is essential for ensuring the integrity of plumbing systems across our projects while fostering a safe and productive work environment.
