Job Title:
Plumber Job Description This role offers an experienced commercial plumber the opportunity to work on a long-term new construction project in Baltimore, Maryland, with a clear path to permanent employment after an initial period. You will contribute to a major institutional build, performing a wide range of plumbing tasks from rough-in to finish work, while helping to set up, maintain, and break down the job site in a safe and organized manner. Responsibilities Install, sweat, and repair copper piping systems in accordance with project specifications and applicable codes. Install and assemble no-hub cast iron piping, ensuring proper alignment, support, and sealing of all joints. Interpret and work from blueprints and drawings to lay out plumbing systems accurately. Move and stage materials, tools, and equipment to support daily project activities. Set up the job site at the start of each shift, including organizing work areas and preparing tools and materials. Break down the job site at the end of each shift, securing tools, materials, and equipment. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area throughout the project. Collaborate with other trades and team members to ensure work progresses efficiently and on schedule. Follow all safety procedures and site guidelines while working on an active construction project. Essential Skills At least 6 years of experience as a commercial plumber, including apprenticeship years. Strong proficiency in sweating and installing copper pipe in commercial applications. Hands-on experience installing and assembling no-hub cast iron pipe. Ability to read and interpret plumbing blueprints and construction drawings. Demonstrated experience working on commercial construction projects. Capability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting materials and working on your feet for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Reliable work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a construction team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Any additional commercial plumbing experience beyond the minimum requirements is a plus. Experience working on large institutional or campus projects is beneficial. Familiarity with new-build construction environments and related safety practices. Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and project priorities. Why Work Here? The environment is an active construction site, requiring adherence to safety protocols and coordination with multiple trades. Work will primarily involve on-site, hands-on plumbing tasks using copper and no-hub cast iron piping systems, along with standard commercial plumbing tools and equipment. The project is scheduled to run for approximately 12 months at the same location, offering consistent hours and a stable work setting. Attire will follow typical construction site standards, including appropriate workwear and required personal protective equipment as specified by site safety guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $46.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
