Plumbing Apprentice- Up to $22 2.6 2.6 out of 5 stars The Solomon Organization has an immediate opening for an experienced Plumbing Apprentice to join our team. The Plumbing Apprentice is responsible for assisting the Master Plumber with various plumbing installation and modification projects at various apartment communities managed by Solomon. Incumbents should be able to learn quickly, follow instructions well, and have strong communication skills. The Apprentice may also be called upon periodically to assist with plumbing service calls at our apartment communities. A minimum of two years of relevant industry experience required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

: Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test all pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, sprinkler, and gas systems Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated accurately diagnosing plumbing problems Install and repair fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners etc. Repair or replace water lines, domestic recirculation lines, and sewer lines. Respond to emergency plumbing calls such as clogged drains, broken water lines, frozen pipes, gas odors and possible gas leaks. JOB REQUIREMENTS

2 years working in plumbing field Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment Knowledge of plumbing codes Ability to diagnose and resolve problems Ability to perform mathematical calculations Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage challenging demands Strong knowledge of standard safety practices using equipment and other requirements of workplace safety

PHYSICAL DEMANDS IN ADDITION TO THOSE LISTED ABOVE

Ability to lift 50+ lbs. Position requires bending, lifting, kneeling, twisting, and performing installations at awkward angles. Work environment may include loud noises, dust, dirt, and minor hazards. Snow removal mandatory.
