Job Description

What We Offer Competitive pay Great benefits package Steady, non-contracted work Opportunities for growth and advancement Supportive healthcare environment What You'll Do The Non-Licensed Plumber performs advanced-level plumbing and mechanical work as assigned by Plant Engineering Services leadership to help maintain the safety, functionality, and service life of hospital facilities and equipment.
Responsibilities include:
Repairing and maintaining commercial plumbing systems and equipment Installing and servicing medical gas systems including oxygen, vacuum, nitrogen, compressed air, and nitrous oxide Troubleshooting plumbing and mechanical issues using testing equipment and diagnostic tools Reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics Evaluating plumbing systems for performance and efficiency improvements Installing and repairing kitchen equipment and related systems Following life safety, plumbing, and building codes Assisting with emergency response, evacuation procedures, and firefighting support when needed Working safely in confined spaces, at heights, and in physically demanding environments What We're Looking For Education High School Diploma or GED required One year of vocational or technical school preferred Experience Minimum two years of commercial plumbing installation and maintenance experience required Healthcare facility experience preferred License NC Drivers License required Skills (Required) Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, building codes, and life safety standards Experience with medical gas systems and commercial plumbing repairs Ability to troubleshoot plumbing and mechanical equipment issues Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals Knowledge of kitchen equipment installation and repair Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic systems preferred Comfortable using computers and standard PC programs Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting, climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, and working in confined spaces Ability to work extended shifts and respond to emergency situations as needed Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment Why Choose Novant Health?
