Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Installation Technician - Hydraulic Plumbing is responsible for installing hydraulic systems, hoses, pumps, and plumbing components on dump truck bodies and equipment. This position requires mechanical ability, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Install hydraulic hoses, fittings, pumps, and controls on truck bodies and equipment according to work orders and schematics. Measure, cut, and route hydraulic hoses and plumbing lines properly. Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic equipment. Test hydraulic systems for leaks and proper function after installation. Troubleshoot and correct hydraulic plumbing issues as needed. Work with welders, fabricators, electricians, and paint technicians to complete the build process. Keep accurate records of parts used and work completed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Communicate any issues, missing parts, or delays to the supervisor immediately. Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems and plumbing installation — Mechanical experience is preferred but not required ( we will train motivated individuals ). Ability to read and follow schematics, instructions, and work orders. Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and hydraulic equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move heavy parts (up to 75 lbs.) during the shift. Dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to work as part of a team. Good communication skills and a positive work attitude. Preferred Skills (but not required): Previous experience with hydraulic systems, plumbing, or heavy equipment installation. Forklift experience or willingness to be trained. Basic troubleshooting skills. This is a hands-on role that's key to building safe, reliable dump trucks that our customers depend on every day.
