This position requires advanced technical skill, strong problem solving ability, efficient execution, and leadership capability. The Lead Installer is responsible for completing installation projects safely, accurately, and on schedule while guiding helpers and apprentices and maintaining Odyssey Mechanical quality standards. Core Responsibilities Water, DWV, and Treatment Systems
  • Install PEX, copper, ProPress, and similar potable water systems for repipes, replacements, and upgrades
  • Perform whole home repipes and fixture supply conversions with proper pressure, flow, and layout verification
  • Install, repair, and replace DWV systems including corrections to venting, slope, and drainage layout
  • Install and commission water treatment systems including softeners, filtration setups, and RO systems
  • Perform system testing to verify proper drainage, pressure, flow, and overall performance
  • Identify deficiencies in existing systems and provide corrective recommendations Gas Systems
  • Install natural gas and propane piping to all applicable codes
  • Set regulators, valves, drip legs, and transitions
  • Perform propane conversions and system modifications as required
  • Pressure test, document, and verify gas system safety and compliance Fixtures
  • Install and set toilets, sinks, faucets, tubs, showers, hose bibs, laundry boxes, and specialty fixtures
  • Perform necessary adjustments or modifications for proper operation
  • Ensure sealing, alignment, finish quality, and leak-free performance
  • Communicate final operation details to homeowners during job closeout Sewer and Drains
  • Complete sewer line replacements, spot repairs, and tie-ins
  • Perform trenching, excavation, and floor break work as needed
  • Operate sewer inspection cameras for diagnostics, verification, and documentation
  • Use jetting equipment for blockage removal or line cleaning
  • Confirm proper drainage and system integrity after completion Project Execution
  • Review and follow quoted scopes of work, job notes, and material lists
  • Verify all materials, tools, and equipment before starting the project
  • Execute installations with high craftsmanship and minimal rework
  • Ensure all work passes inspections and complies with local and state code
  • Maintain accurate jobsite documentation including photos, notes, measurements, and material usage
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas throughout the project Leadership and Training
  • Provide clear direction and task assignments to helpers and apprentices
  • Train team members in installation techniques, safety procedures, and workmanship standards
  • Monitor productivity and ensure work meets company expectations
  • Promote a positive, accountable, growth-oriented culture within the crew Customer and Team Communication
  • Communicate job progress, issues, and needs to supervisors and project managers
  • Work professionally with homeowners, maintaining a clean and respectful presence
  • Conduct final walkthroughs explaining completed work, system operation, and maintenance expectations
  • Identify and resolve issues discovered during installation, and communicate scope changes when needed Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years residential plumbing installation experience
  • Proficiency in PEX, copper, ProPress, and potable water systems
  • Strong DWV installation and diagnostic capability
  • Gas piping installation and pressure testing experience
  • Sewer replacement and drain system experience including camera operation
  • Skilled in installation of water heaters including tank, tankless, and heat pump units
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Ability to read scopes of work, interpret installation requirements, and execute without rework
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Performance Expectations

  • Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds
  • Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, and confined areas
  • Ability to perform trenching and excavation tasks when required
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and plumbing equipment safely
Pay:
From $25.00 per hour
