Job Description

Job Summary:
This position requires a skilled and dependable Journeyman Plumber to perform a wide range of plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance in compliance with city and state regulations and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including piping, fixtures, water heaters, and drainage systems. Diagnose plumbing issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications. Ensure all work complies with New York State plumbing codes, local regulations, and company standards. Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and other trades to ensure project efficiency and coordination. Assist in material selection, ordering, and inventory management. Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness and organization. Communicate clearly with team members and clients regarding project progress and issues. Support and mentor apprentices and junior plumbers as needed. Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training preferred. Minimum of 5 years of hands-on plumbing experience. Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation techniques. Familiarity with New York State plumbing codes and safety standards. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical schematics. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Skills:
Experience with residential and light commercial plumbing projects. Knowledge of systems such as water filtration, hydronic heating, and gas piping. Experience with remodeling and new construction projects. Basic knowledge of digital tools, project management software, or mobile reporting systems.
Work Environment:
Work may involve exposure to various weather conditions, hazardous materials, and physically demanding environments. Tasks may include working in tight spaces, heights, and active construction sites. Occasional on-call or emergency service work may be required.
