POSITION
Start the next chapter of your Plumbing Career! The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections at SCI Phoenix is actively seeking a devoted and passionate Plumbing Trade Instructor. As a Plumbing Trade Instructor, you will work as part of a dedicated maintenance team where collaboration, and communication are integral. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Plumbing Trade Instructor for the Department of Corrections, you will provide instruction to inmates in all areas of plumbing. You will be providing on-the-job training and shop instruction for the vocational training of inmates and instruction in the areas of general plumbing maintenance, preventative plumbing maintenance, and installation of new plumbing fixtures and equipment. Duties include planning and assigning work to inmates receiving plumbing training and reviewing and inspecting work in progress and upon completion. Interested in learning more? Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Telework:
You will not have the option to telework in this position. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,868 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Five years of experience in the inspection, maintenance, repair, assembly, and installation of pipes, fittings, and fixtures used in heating, water, and drainage systems; or Completion of an approved apprenticeship in the plumbing trade; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes one year of journey level work in the plumbing trade.
Other Requirements:
