Above Entry-Level Position Overview Are you looking to build a career with your hands? We are seeking a motivated, reliable, and hardworking Plumber's Apprentice to join our team. In this role, you will work directly under the supervision of a Licensed Master or Journeyman Plumber. This is a "learn-as-you-earn" position designed to provide you with the technical skills, safety knowledge, and field experience required to become a licensed professional.
Key Responsibilities Assistance:
Support lead plumbers in the installation, repair, and maintenance of pipes, fixtures, and plumbing systems.
Tool Management:
Maintain, organize, and transport tools and equipment to and from job sites.
Preparation:
Help prepare work areas by clearing obstacles, digging trenches, and cutting or threading pipes.
Installation:
Assist with the installation of water heaters, toilets, sinks, and faucets in both residential and commercial settings.
Troubleshooting:
Observe and learn diagnostic techniques to identify leaks and system failures.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all local plumbing codes and safety regulations (OSHA) to ensure a safe work environment.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Aptitude:
Strong mechanical inclination and a desire to learn a specialized trade.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces (crawlspaces/attics), and stand for long periods.
Communication:
Excellent listening skills and the ability to follow complex instructions.
Reliability:
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential for traveling to various job sites.
Mindset:
A positive "can-do" attitude and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients. Responsibilities Assist licensed plumbers in installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing and gas systems. Help with the assembly and installation of plumbing fixtures, pipes, and fittings. Read and interpret blueprints to understand project specifications. Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Support remodeling projects by assisting with carpentry tasks as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work environment at job sites and company equipment, including power tools and work trucks. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations and maintain a positive attitude while on the job. Participate in field service calls as required, providing excellent customer service. Experience Previous experience or knowledge in plumbing, HVAC, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with mechanical knowledge and the ability to read blueprints is advantageous. Experience with hand tools and basic construction skills is almost a necessity A background in carpentry or remodeling can be beneficial for this role.
