Job Title:
Plumber Job Description This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in commercial construction projects, with a strong focus on code compliance, safety, and high-quality workmanship. You will work on both above‑ground and underground systems, interpret blueprints, and ensure that all plumbing layouts function efficiently and reliably. Responsibilities Install plumbing systems with proper layout and slope while ensuring full compliance with applicable plumbing codes. Assemble, maintain, and troubleshoot venting systems to support efficient and safe operation. Work with copper piping, including cutting, soldering, brazing, and performing repairs to a high standard. Install and repair cast iron plumbing systems using appropriate joining methods, tools, and safety practices. Perform above‑ground plumbing installations for new commercial construction and remodel projects. Handle underground plumbing work, including installation and repair of sewer, water, and drainage systems. Interpret blueprints and job specifications to plan, lay out, and execute plumbing installations accurately. Inspect existing plumbing systems to identify issues and recommend effective repair or replacement solutions. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete plumbing tasks. Collaborate with other trades on the job site to coordinate work and meet project timelines. Essential Skills Minimum 3-5 years of plumbing experience in commercial construction. Proficiency with underslab plumbing systems, including layout and installation. Strong experience with venting systems, ensuring proper operation and code compliance. Hands-on expertise working with copper piping, including cutting, soldering, brazing, and repairs. Experience installing and repairing cast iron plumbing systems using proper joining methods. Proven experience with both above‑ground and underground plumbing installations. Strong understanding of plumbing codes, regulations, and industry best practices. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job specifications accurately. Solid troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve plumbing issues efficiently. Commitment to safe work practices on active construction sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications Plumbing certifications preferred but not required. OSHA certifications preferred but not required. Experience working on commercial construction projects from rough-in through finish. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and quality in all aspects of installation and repair. Effective communication skills for coordinating with supervisors, contractors, and other trades. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a full-time role with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You work primarily on commercial construction sites, performing both above‑ground and underground plumbing tasks. The environment is hands-on and physically active, requiring regular use of plumbing tools and equipment, as well as adherence to safety procedures and site protocols. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Summerville, SC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
