Full Time Job Summary:
The Journeyman Service Plumber is responsible for scheduling jobs, tasks, manpower, and coordinate jobs Plumbing supervisor. This position will encompass and assist our service and general construction repairs, installs, and maintains pipes used for water distribution and wastewater disposal. This position is under the direct supervision of the plumbing supervisor. Installations will be up to code and Geneco Technologies quality standards.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
1. Direct installation and maintenance of plumbing systems. 2. Assemble, install, maintain, and pressure test pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, drainage, and gas systems according to specifications and plumbing codes. 3. Determine sources of plumbing malfunctions and complete repairs as indicated or according to work orders. 4. Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures. 5. Install and repair pipes, fittings, valves, fixtures, and plumbing system equipment, including sinks, commodes, water heaters, water softeners, etc.; install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment. 6. Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems. 7. Plan, install and service plumbing systems, fixtures, piping equipment and controls; test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks. 8. Receive and complete work orders as assigned for service calls. 9. Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates and provide proposals to customers. 10. Maintain accurate records on material and labor used. 11. Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure all working areas are clean. 12. Respond to emergency calls as needed. Will be scheduled on the rotational on-call list for responding to after-hours, emergency plumbing calls. 13. Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment; ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition. 14. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. 15. Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately. 16. Cut openings in structures in preparation for pipes as required. 17. Assemble and install valves and fittings. Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing and welding equipment. 18. Install other plumbing equipment, such as sinks, tubs, toilets, water heaters, air conditioners, appliances, and trim. 19. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe to required angle 20. Test pipe systems and fix leaks. Observe pressure gauges to fix leaks. 21. Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and grade. 22. Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time as instructed by management. 23. Perform other duties as directed by management.
Requirements:

Strong ability to distinguish between various plumbing equipment and procedures. 6. Self-motivated individual with ability to follow instructions and work alone, as well as work effectively within a team. 7. Ability to display professional company image. 8. Possession of valid TX driver's license with good record of driving. 9. Ability to lift items weighing up to 100lbs safely. 10. Strong ability to operate under severe temperature conditions for extended periods of time. 11. Ability to work on weekends, at night, and to work overtime as needed. 12. Ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, or/and kneel continually. 13. Knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance, and installation techniques. 14. Knowledge of local and state regulatory plumbing codes and requirements 15. Must have own hand tools and cordless tools (Tool List Provided) & the ability to use hand and power tools. 16. Ability to Meet deadlines in terms of work assignment schedules. 17. Must possess valid state driver license and ability to pass an extensive background test to access government facilities for frequent work in these areas.
