About Us and the

Role:

We are one of the most established new construction residential plumbing companies in the Greater Richmond area. We are currently growing our service department and need a highly experienced service technician to help lead the charge. If you've been in residential service for a while, you probably know that a lot of companies are pushing their plumbers to act like salesmen. That's not how we operate. We don't pay commission for upselling, and we don't want our team pressured into talking homeowners into things they don't actually need. We just want you to accurately diagnose the issue, do great work, and treat the customer well. Because of our background in new construction, a good chunk of your week will involve handling warranty work for homeowners living in houses we recently plumbed. The rest of your time will be spent on traditional service and repair calls. Our service area covers the Greater Richmond region (generally ranging from Petersburg up to Caroline, and Amelia out to Williamsburg). Since you'll be the most experienced service technician out in the field, we'll look to you to set the standard. This isn't an office or management role, but you will spend some of your time guiding and troubleshooting with our newer techs. You need to be comfortable explaining your process and helping others get up to speed.

What You'll Be Doing:

Troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing a wide variety of residential plumbing systems. Working extensively with older materials (cast iron, copper) as well as modern plumbing. Performing advanced drain cleaning and jetting. Diagnosing and repairing tankless water heaters.

Preparing estimates:

You should be comfortable assessing a job, calculating the necessary time and materials, and knowing the standard rates for similar work. Handling warranty service calls for our new construction clients with a high degree of professionalism. Helping to teach and guide junior technicians as needed.

What We're Looking For:

Extensive Service Experience:

You've been in the trade for a long time, know your way around older homes, and have deep experience with drain cleaning/jetting.

Great Communication:

You need to be able to explain plumbing issues clearly and honestly to homeowners, and be patient enough to explain your methods to newer technicians.

Customer-Focused:

Customer satisfaction, reviews, and referrals are a massive priority for us. You need to be respectful, clean, and courteous in customers' homes.

Tools:

You'll need to provide your own hand tools (we expect an experienced service plumber to have a more extensive setup than a new construction installer). We will provide the big, expensive equipment (jetters, cameras, etc.).

Licensing:

A Journeyman or Master license is a plus, but not required if you have the right real-world experience. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Schedule & Benefits:

Hours:

Standard hours are generally 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

On-Call:

We do have a rotating on-call schedule for our technicians, so some after-hours and weekend work will be required. Take-Home Company Van Paid Time Off (PTO) 401(k)

Retirement Plan:

We offer a 100% match on your first 3%, and a 50% match up to 6% (giving you a total 4.5% company match).

Pay:

$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
