Laborer Position Summary Raymark Plumbing & Sewer is seeking a dependable and hardworking Sewer Division Laborer to support our sewer maintenance, repair, excavation, and inspection crews. This position assists with sewer projects by performing manual labor, preparing job sites, handling materials and equipment, and supporting technicians and operators in the successful completion of sewer and underground utility work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist sewer technicians and equipment operators with sewer line repairs, replacements, inspections, and maintenance. Load, unload, transport, and organize tools, materials, and equipment at job sites. Perform excavation support activities, including digging, trench preparation, backfilling, and site cleanup. Assist with sewer camera inspections, hydro jetting, pipe cleaning, and trenchless rehabilitation projects. Operate hand tools, power tools, compactors, pumps, and other equipment as directed. Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas. Assist with preparing job sites before excavation work begins. Follow company safety policies and all applicable OSHA regulations. Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and subcontractors. Participate in emergency response work, including sewer backups and urgent service calls. Perform other duties as assigned to support sewer division operations. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED preferred. Valid Washington State Driver's License with a clean driving record. Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Reliable transportation and punctual attendance. Preferred Previous experience in construction, plumbing, sewer, excavation, underground utilities, or public works. Experience operating construction equipment or utility maintenance equipment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong work ethic and willingness to learn. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Basic knowledge of construction and excavation practices. Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and active job sites. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in changing weather and field conditions. Physical Requirements Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of materials and equipment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and work in trenches for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in rain, cold, heat, and other environmental conditions common to the Pacific Northwest. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Working Conditions Outdoor construction and utility work environments. Exposure to wastewater systems, excavation sites, traffic, noise, dust, and construction hazards. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on project schedules and emergency service needs.
