The Pump Technician is responsible for the installation, diagnostic testing, and repair of water distribution and wastewater removal systems. This role requires a deep understanding of centrifugal pump hydraulics paired with the electrical expertise to troubleshoot complex motor control centers and automated logic systems. Duties Install, align, and commission various types of pumps, including centrifugal, reciprocating, and vertical pumps, ensuring proper operation and safety standards are met. Expertly manage and repair electric motor-driven centrifugal pumps used to move water to roof tanks or elevated storage. Calibrate and troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs) and pressure transducers to ensure consistent water pressure across multi-story or high demand environments. Identify issues such as cavitation, air binding, or seal failures within centrifugal pump housings. Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on submersible sewage ejectors and vertical column sump pumps. Ensure proper operation of float switches, guide rail systems, and check valves to prevent flooding and backflow. Diagnose issues within motor starters, relays, timers, and PLC-based controllers. Test electric motors for continuity, insulation resistance, and proper amperage draw to prevent premature burnout. Join us if you're ready to bring your technical expertise to our team!
