We operate a modern fleet of all-terrain cranes and are expanding across the Southeast. We're hiring a CDL Rigger/Oiler to haul counterweights for our all-terrain cranes and support our lifts safely and efficiently. Position Summary This is a CDL-required, hands-on field role. The primary responsibility is driving the counterweight truck to transport counterweights and rigging gear for our all-terrain (AT) cranes to and from job sites. Between transport runs, this position works as a rigger and oiler — assisting the crane operator with setup, rigging loads, and servicing the crane. It's an excellent path for someone who wants to grow toward a mobile crane operator (NCCCO) career. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a CDL counterweight truck to transport counterweights, rigging, and accessories for all-terrain cranes to and from job sites. Load, secure, and unload counterweights and equipment in accordance with DOT cargo-securement standards. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer; maintain logs and required documentation. Assist the crane operator with AT crane setup — leveling, outrigger placement, counterweight assembly/installation, and rig-up/rig-down.
Rig loads safely:
select and inspect slings, shackles, chains, and hardware and attach loads correctly.
Perform oiler duties:
lubricate, fuel, and service the crane; assist with daily crane inspections and minor maintenance. Act as a signal person/spotter during lifts as directed. Support job-site setup, teardown, and general rigging labor as needed. Maintain a clean, organized truck and equipment and follow all
DOT, OSHA, ASME
B30, and company safety rules. Required Qualifications Valid Class A or B CDL with an acceptable driving record (clean MVR). Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain DOT compliance. Experience driving heavy trucks; experience hauling counterweights, equipment, or oversize/heavy loads preferred. Rigging experience or strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Ability to read load/rigging instructions and follow safety procedures. Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb, and work outdoors in varying weather and physically demanding conditions. Reliable, punctual, safety-focused, and a strong team player. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience supporting mobile / all-terrain cranes. NCCCO Rigger and/or Signalperson certification. Prior oiler or crane-support experience. Experience with counterweight handling and crane assembly/disassembly. Interest in advancing toward a crane operator role (company supports NCCCO training). What We Provide Competitive pay based on experience plus overtime opportunities. Company truck and equipment for job duties. Paid time off and Paid holidays Uniforms, PPE, and paid safety/NCCCO training with a clear path to advancement. Physical Requirements & Work Environment This role combines driving with physically demanding field work at active job sites. It requires prolonged driving, standing, bending, climbing, and working at heights; lifting 50+ lbs; handling heavy counterweights and rigging; and exposure to weather, noise, and heavy equipment. All employees must follow PPE and site safety requirements.
