BlueSky Mobile Power develops and manufactures small form factor advanced power generation systems for the US military and commercial markets, including an in-house developed axial flux electric motor. The company is currently transitioning a 6kW power generation system into production while developing a turbocharged 10kW version. BlueSky has also acquired the world's smallest common rail diesel engine — the only diesel engine under 25 HP made in the USA — and is relocating its production to Lexington, NC. Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Wiring Harness Assembler to join our production team. You will fabricate, assemble, and test complex wire harnesses and cable assemblies used in demanding military and commercial power generation environments. Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship are essential — the systems you build keep missions running. Preferred Industry Background Candidates with experience in one or more of the following wiring environments are strongly preferred: Automotive — OEM/Tier 1 vehicle harnesses Military / Defense — MIL-SPEC, MIL-DTL-17, defense platform wiring Industrial — Heavy equipment, automation, power systems Responsibilities Read and interpret wiring schematics, blueprints, and assembly drawings Cut, strip, and terminate wires using hand tools, crimpers, and automated cutting equipment Assemble harnesses on build boards per engineered layouts and work instructions Install connectors, terminals, splices, grommets, and protective sleeving Perform continuity, hi-pot, and functional tests using harness test equipment Inspect completed assemblies against quality standards; document and report defects Maintain a clean, organized workstation and comply with ESD and safety protocols Support continuous improvement initiatives and flag process issues to leads Qualifications Required 2+ years of wiring harness or cable assembly experience Proficiency with hand crimping and wire-stripping tools Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and Bills of Materials (BOMs) Familiarity with connector brands such as Molex, Deutsch, TE Connectivity/AMP, Amphenol, Glenair, Autosport, and Delphi/Aptiv Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization (position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services) Preferred Experience with automated wire cutting and crimping machines Knowledge of AS9100 or
IATF 16949
