Lift Planner 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars 2200 E County Road 120, Midland, TX 79706 Part-time Southern Transport 7 reviews Part-time Southern Lifting and Hoisting is seeking a safety-focused Lift Planner to support crane and lifting operations in our Midland office. This role is responsible for developing lift plans, selecting equipment configurations, and preparing job packets that support safe and efficient project execution. This position works closely with customers, operators, riggers, and internal teams to help ensure jobs are properly planned before work begins. Why This Role Matters Well-planned lifts improve safety, reduce delays, and help crews execute efficiently in the field. This role helps Southern deliver reliable service by ensuring the right plan is in place before mobilization. What You'll Do Develop lift plans for customer projects Determine crane size, type, configuration, and placement Determine rigging size, type, and capacity Evaluate matting needs to achieve allowable ground bearing pressure Meet with clients as needed to discuss job scope and field measure job sites Assemble lift plan packets with required details, drawings, and certifications Communicate plans with operations, safety personnel, customers, and field teams Revise plans as project needs change What You Need to Succeed Experience in crane, rigging, heavy equipment, construction, or related field operations preferred Strong safety mindset and ability to identify jobsite risk Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing job scopes CAD experience is a plus Degree preferred, not required A Day in the Life This role may involve reviewing customer scope details, selecting crane configurations, preparing lift packets, coordinating with operations teams, and updating plans as job conditions change.
