Summary:
The Assistant Roofer II performs routine roofing tasks with limited supervision and demonstrates foundational knowledge of commercial roofing systems. This role builds technical skills and prepares the employee for journeyman-level responsibilities. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Perform basic installation tasks (fastening, insulation placement, membrane handling, basic trims, coping cap, reglet, counter flashing) Use hand and power tools safely and effectively Assist with material layout and staging Identify common tools, materials, and roofing components Actively participate in safety meetings and hazard recognition Support quality control by following installation standards Exercise Stop-Work Authority to prevent serious safety violations and protect employees, property, and the worksite Handle equipment, tools, and materials responsibly, following proper care and safety procedures Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and jobsite housekeeping practices • Education and/or
Experience:
6-18 months of commercial roofing experience (or equivalent training). OSHA 10-Hour certification preferred.
