Veterans Preference Job Summary The Highway Guardrail Installer position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, company policies and procedures and safety guidelines.

Reading of plans and schematics. Layout of Highway Guardrail. Handling and installing all the materials for guardrail installation. Loading and unloading materials on a flat-bed truck and/or trailer by hand, digging holes, using power tools, etc. Operation of Post Pounder/Driver Truck.
Required Skills:
Repeated physical effort including driving for several hours per day or several hours at a time, standing and walking for extended periods of time (more than several hours),loading and unloading equipment into and out of company vehicles, walking on varying ground surfaces and frequently lifting a minimum of 50 pounds frequently Ability to work from elevated platforms, ladders or truck beds Operating hand/power tools, manual dexterity to operate keyboards and smartphones, physical agility to use arms, legs and hands repetitively Working outdoors, working safely under adverse environmental and weather conditions which include high speed traffic areas, heavy construction equipment, fuel fumes and construction substances Comfortable around vehicles moving through work zones and maintaining constant awareness of surroundings on construction site including placement of machinery and equipment, other employees and construction activities V ision adequate to see moving vehicles, read highway construction MOT signs, read instructions, manuals, reports, and construction plans due to nature of job Hearing adequate to hear approaching vehicles, audible commands at a distance from supervisors, conversations in person, and over the telephone due to nature of job Ability to communicate in both written and verbally and ability to complete daily paperwork as required by supervisor due to nature of job Ability to work a flexible schedule which can include day or night shifts, weekends and/or holidays, adjusting to a changing work schedule, working overtime and working individually and as a team with other employees Valid driver's license for required travel. Class A CDL preferred. Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations Employer conducts Motor Vehicle Record Check, back ground check, reference check, E-Verify, and drug screening 18 years or older due to hazardous occupation
Desired Qualifications:
3-5 years guardrail installation Will offer on-the-job training, professional mentorship, career training, continuing education, advancement opportunities and certification opportunities.
