Marketing Full Job Description Title:
Field Technician, Roofing Primary Function:
Responsible for collecting and reviewing specifications that define scope and quality on assigned projects. Travel to project sites and observe construction, documenting daily activities and ensuring that construction meets or exceeds project specifications. Work under supervision of managerial staff.
Reports To:
Vice President, Quality, Process and Innovation Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and document project scope, quality, and conformance to project specifications.
  • Contact with Client—coordinate information and communications between Owner and team, review scope changes, review Contractor invoices, and work with responsible director for fee billings.
  • Ensure that work conforms to project specifications. Collaborate with StructureTec PM and contractor to properly report and correct deficient work.
  • Follow applicable guidelines as listed in the Quality Manual.
  • Assist marketing team in proposal development, including project manpower require­ments, team, scope, schedule, contracts, and interviews.
  • Complete assignments efficiently in a timely and complete manner as required by the project and/or supervisor.
  • Represent the firm in a professional manner and follow Quality Manual guidelines
  • Continuing education to improve technical knowledge/skills through outside and in-house programs, seminars, training sessions, site visits, trade periodicals, and other resources.
  • Perform miscellaneous corporate projects, as assigned.
  • All other duties as apparent or assigned.
  • Support the Project Manager while performing the following techniques and procedures: 1. Evaluation Phase(DMS):
  • Assist DMS department as needed.
  • Infrared survey - StructureScan TM
  • Tramex, material testing
  • Test cuts and moisture probe
  • Evaluation rating system 2.
Design Development:
  • Collect data in support of StructureTec PM
  • System designs/material selection
  • Client interaction
  • Perform test cuts and create field notes for design.

Construction Review and Administration/Support Field Operations:
  • Site construction visits and progress reports
  • Coordinate site visits between several jobsites
  • Monitor time on project or budget
  • Write field reports and progress reports for all visits and meetings (expertly/ technically)
  • Client contact interaction/review
  • Support preconstruction meetings, progress meetings (attendance and coordination) 4.
Maintenance Program:
  • Monitor maintenance repairs and projects
Qualifications:
  • Pursuing degree in Architecture, Engineering, Drafting, Construction Management, or related post high school training preferred.
  • Desire to pursue continuing education and certification programs (CSI, RCI, RIEI, NRCA).
  • Willingness to contribute to a teamwork-oriented environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Good communication skills (both oral & written) to effectively work with Clients from beginning design to post construction.
  • Non-degreed persons must have a minimum of 5 years industry experience.
Testing:
  • Non-Destructive Testing - familiar with Tramex leak seeker and other similar equipment.
  • Destructive Testing - must have skills needed to successfully accomplish testing, such as moisture probes and test cuts.
  • Knowledge of project management process as it relates to the business.
  • Knowledge in construction, such as industry standards, materials, codes, contracts, bid­ding processes, etc.
  • Knowledge in
Q.C. /Q.A.
standards of StructureTec.
  • Knowledge and experience in field inspection.
  • Skills to write technical reports and letters.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation such as: o Lifting 50+ lbs.
regularly, repeated bending, climbing, and kneeling. o Ability to climb a ladder 40'. o Ability to work in extreme climates. o Must be comfortable with heights. o Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
Travel Percentage:
75-100%
Benefits:
Your first sixty (60) days of employment with StructureTec are considered an Introductory Period, and upon completion of that time you will be eligible for the benefits as described in the StructureTec Employee Manual.
Pay:
$34.00 - $38.00 per hour
