Job Description

We are a growing drainage and site work contractor based in WNC. We work across Buncombe, Henderson, and surrounding counties for residential, commercial, HOA, and municipal clients. We're looking for an experienced field hand who can lead a small crew, handle a wide range of site work, and get the job done right without being micromanaged. This is not a single-trade position. On any given week you might be digging and laying drainage pipe, forming and pouring a concrete catch basin, patching asphalt, running a mini-ex, plumbing 4" PVC, finishing a masonry repair, grading a yard, or cleaning up a landscape. If that sounds exhausting, this isn't the job for you. If that sounds like a good week, keep reading. What you'll be doing: Trench and drainage work — HDPE and PVC pipe installation, French drains, culverts, stormwater structures. Setting tanks and underground systems. Grading and machine operation. Concrete forming, pouring, and finishing on smaller projects — curbs, catch basins, trench drain surrounds, patching, custom pours. Occasional masonry, stucco, and minor carpentry. Asphalt patching. Landscape finish work — hand grading, seed and straw, cleanup, occasional planting. Running solo fix calls when something needs attention. Leading a crew when the job calls for it. Hand digging is part of the job. What we're looking for: Real hands-on experience across multiple trades — not a specialist, not a generalist who can't back it up. You need to understand grade and flow, read a level, and know how to make water go downhill. You should be comfortable running equipment and comfortable picking up a shovel. You need to be reliable, sharp, and honest about what you know and what you don't. Leadership experience or the clear ability to step into that role matters — you won't always be running a crew, but when you are, it needs to go smoothly. Clean driving record required; you'll be taking a company vehicle to job sites. Pay & details: $23-28/hr depending on experience. Standard 40-hour week with periodic overtime and occasional flex days. 40 hours PTO accrued annually. Company vehicle and fuel provided when assigned. Service area is primarily Buncombe and Henderson counties with work occasionally in surrounding counties.
Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour
Benefits:
