In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining steep-slope roofing systems on commercial buildings. Your expertise will ensure that roofs are durable, weather-resistant, and meet all safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your technical skills and craftsmanship to deliver top-quality results in a fast-paced environment. Duties Install, repair, and replace steep-slope roofing systems using various materials such as asphalt shingles, metal panels, tiles, and other roofing products. Install, repair and replace low slope roofing systems using various materials such as TPO, PVC, EPDM and other roofing products. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute roofing projects. Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to cut, shape, and install roofing components efficiently and safely. Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment while adhering to safety protocols to prevent injuries. Conduct site inspections to ensure proper installation techniques and quality control throughout each project phase. Coordinate with project managers, carpenters, masons, and other trades to facilitate seamless project execution. Maintain a clean and organized worksite by properly handling waste materials like caulking residues, debris, and unused supplies. Willingness to learn through on-the-job training Knowledge and experience with multiple types of commercial roofing systems or construction in general (preferred but not required) Aerial Lift (preferred) Some experience with metal roofing (1-2 years of roofing experience preferred but not required) Enthusiasm for working outside in the elements and being physically active Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and think outside-the-box Dependable and able to be at work on time and on a consistent basis Presentable in appearance, and professional when communicating with both customers and Benton Team Members Sharpen up your Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) knowledge so you're a top-notch construction industry member Knowledge and experience with multiple types of roofing systems (preferred but not required) Experience using a hot air welder and/or other roofing system application tools (preferred but not required) Hungry to start a career with the opportunity to advance within the company Must be able to pass a background check Ability to travel out of town for work Skills Extensive experience with construction estimating to accurately assess project scope and material needs. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and heavy machinery specific to roofing tasks. Strong knowledge of roofing systems including metal stud framing, tile laying, stucco application, and restoration techniques. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings with precision. Skilled in fabrication and carpentry techniques such as trim carpentry, frame carpentry, masonry work, plumbing integration, welding, and concrete forming. Familiarity with schematics for building systems like plumbing or electrical components related to roofing projects. Experience in construction site safety practices including heavy lifting protocols and fall protection measures. Knowledge of building codes related to commercial roofing installations and repairs. Handyman experience is a plus for versatile problem-solving on-site.
