Part Time Construction Assistant

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Construction Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting various construction projects by assisting skilled tradespeople and ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. This role is responsible for overseeing the construction of residential houses. These houses will either be houses that are built from the ground-up or rehabbed houses. The ground-up houses process will include: grading, excavation, footings, masonry, framing, roofing & siding, plumbing, electric, sheetrock, painting, carpentry. Responsibilities Assist construction workers with daily tasks on-site, including loading and unloading materials. Check up on construction constantly to confirm progress on projects Check details and mistakes of contractors throughout project Plan and project items that have to be completed Deal with requisite local government offices for permitting issues Find necessary contractors for jobs. Must move materials to site and return extra materials when necessary Must be able to fill in wherever necessary Prepare job sites by cleaning and organizing tools and equipment. Follow instructions from supervisors and skilled tradespeople to complete tasks accurately.

Requirements:

Must drive and have car Must communicate well Must have experience in residential construction Must know basic computer skills such as (email, scanning, and internet searches) Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and materials Strong physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship. Problem-solving abilities to assist in troubleshooting issues on-site. Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
