Description:
The Thermal Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of insulated metal panels (IMPs) as well as the installation of thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing systems in various construction settings. This role requires a keen attention to detail and a thorough understanding of panel and roofing components and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will have experience in reading plans as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential for success in this position.Duties/Responsibilities:
Insulated Metal Panels (IMP) Measure, cut, and install insulated metal panels (IMPs) for walls, roofs, and other structures according to plans and project specifications Install related components, including fasteners, flashing, and sealants, to ensure proper fit and function Operate hand and power tools to share and install panels and trim pieces Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) Roofing Install single-ply TPO roofing systems on flat or low-slope roofs, including insulation, membrane, and roof metal. Measure, cut, and secure roofing components using appropriate techniques and tools Apply adhesives, fasteners, and seam welds to ensure a watertight seal Specialty Doors Mechanical install of doors including but not limited to; High Speed roll up doors, Infit man doors, cold storage slider doors, FRP Doors, Impact Traffic Doors, Air Doors. Adjust for proper function and seal Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards Collaborate with other team members and departments as necessary Provide technical support and guidance to junior mechanics Other duties as assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Proficiency in using hand and power tools Capability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods Ability to operate equipment (aerial lifts, forklifts, etc) with proper training Ability to work at heights and in various environmental conditionsEducation/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction or a similar role OSHA 10-hour certification preferredTravel Requirements:
Anticipated 100% travel to project sites nationwide Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings, trainings, and events.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time Bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods Ability to perform repetitive movements Ability to move in and around confined and cluttered places and uneven areas Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to and exceeding 50 pounds Adequate vision to perform all required tasks Work on ladders, scaffolding, and rooftops Comfortable with heights and able to climb and descend safely Strong sense of balance and spatial awareness Participate in respiratory fit testing and use as requiredAbout Stellar:
