As the Lead Roofer, you will coordinate roofing crews, ensure safety standards are met, and deliver exceptional craftsmanship on every project. Your expertise in roofing techniques, construction estimating, blueprint reading, and various related trades will drive project success from start to finish. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead teams, solve complex roofing challenges, and contribute to building durable, weather-resistant structures. Duties Lead and supervise roofing crews to ensure efficient and safe completion of projects while maintaining high standards of quality. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute roofing designs and specifications. Perform construction estimating to determine material needs, labor costs, and project timelines. Utilize hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and heavy machinery to install various roofing systems including shingles, metal panels, membranes, and more. Coordinate with other trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and framing to ensure seamless integration of roofing with overall construction plans. Conduct site inspections regularly to monitor progress, enforce safety protocols, and troubleshoot technical issues like caulking, trim carpentry, or stucco application. Oversee material fabrication and handling of specialized components such as metal stud framing or concrete forms when necessary for restoration or remodeling projects. Read and interpret schematics and blueprints accurately; adapt plans as needed for site-specific conditions. Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards. Mentor team members on proper use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, tile laying techniques, and other specialized skills required for advanced roofing projects. Qualifications Proven experience in roofing installation combined with strong construction site experience across multiple trades including carpentry, masonry, framing, or remodeling. Skilled in construction estimating with the ability to read blueprints and schematics confidently. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, scaffolding setup, and heavy lifting techniques. Knowledge of various roofing materials such as shingles, metal panels, membranes; experience with stucco or tile laying is a plus. Familiarity with construction safety protocols and OSHA standards; ability to enforce safety practices on-site. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining a positive work environment. Excellent problem-solving skills for troubleshooting issues related to caulking, trim carpentry, restoration projects or plumbing integrations. Physical stamina for demanding tasks including heavy lifting; comfortable working at heights in outdoor environments. Ability to interpret technical drawings including schematics related to metal stud framing or masonry work; experience in fabrication is advantageous.
