In this role, you will be responsible for building, fitting, and assembling mechanical components and sub-assemblies according to technical blueprints and engineering specifications. The ideal candidate has strong manual dexterity, experience working with a variety of hand and power tools, and a commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Assemble complex mechanical units, sub-assemblies, and components using standard hand and power tools. Read, interpret, and work accurately from blueprints, BOMs, schematics, engineering drawings, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Position, align, and fasten parts using bolts, screws, rivets, or adhesives. Perform basic quality checks and inspections on finished assemblies to ensure they meet engineering tolerances and defect-free standards. Identify and report any blueprint discrepancies or component defects to the supervisor or quality assurance team. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with 5S and OSHA standards. Assist with inventory counts and report low stock levels for critical hardware or components.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
1-3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a similar production environment.
Technical Skills:
Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings. Proficiency with hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers) and power tools (drills, pneumatic drivers, torque wrenches).
Precision:
Solid manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small to medium-sized components. High attention to detail.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods. Capability to safely lift up to [insert weight, e.g., 40 lbs] unassisted.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Technical school certificates are a plus.
Soft Skills:
Dependable team player with strong communication skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.
