Operional Needs of Management Supervisory and Managerial Responsibilities:
Participes with the Branch Chief in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, staffing needs, estimes and recommendions as to scheduling projected work. Plans use of subordine workers' equipment, facilities and merials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities and work sequences and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods and policies set by higher level management. As required, coordines work with supporting or reled work functions controlled by other supervisors. Determines the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects. Determines how many assignments can be done concurrently, which ones can be delayed and the number and types of employees needed, considering skills, personnel, merial and equipment available and required. Redirects individual workers and resources to accomplish unanticiped work and/or equipment failure, etc. Informs the Branch Chief of the need to revise work schedules and re-estimes labor and other resources. Performs administrive and technical supervisory functions for subordines. Assigns duties and evalues performance. Manages the organizional unit's budget and workload. Develops performance requirements for subordines and ensures a mutual understanding of the performance standards. Resolves complaints and grievances. Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Determines training needs of subordines and arranges for its accomplishment. Sets performance standards and makes formal appraisals of subordine supervisors' work performance. Approves subordines' recommendions for promotion or reassignments of their staffs. Promotes positive work environment and the participion of employees in such programs as the suggestion program. Maintains production reports and records. Provides leadership to ensure support for equal employment opportunity (EEO) goals and requirements. Practices non-discriminory and non-retaliory employment actions and prevents unlawful discriminion or harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, nional origin, sexual oriention, genetic informion, gender identity, age or disability. Provides for employee skills enrichment through job reled coaching, mentoring and training. The incumbent will foster a culture of learning, sharing, cooperion and teamwork th improves efficiency and effectiveness throughout the organizion. Utilizesa thorough knowledge of and compliance with applicable Occupional Safety and Health Administrion (OSHA), Office of Congressional Workplace Rights, and AOC safety rules and regulions to ensure th work progresses in a safe manner and to initie or take corrective action on unsafe conditions in managed areas. Provides or receives training, either on the job or in a classroom setting, to ensure all direct reports know how to use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Routinely checks to verify th subordines are using all required PPE.
Sheet Metal Mechanic Responsibilities:
Plan, lay out and develop temples and pterns to construct, assemble and install irregular items and systems. The sheet metal items and systems used by sheet metal mechanics this level have various combinions of feures including: cornices, canopies, transition elbows and oblique, trunced or frustum cones. The metal fabricion items and systems used this level have various combinions of feures including: railings, ramps, cages, plforms, stairs, bollards, guardrails and ladders. Evalues damage and/or wear to sheet metal and metal fabricion components and systems. Disassembles, repairs, fabrices, assembles, and installs sheet metal and metal fabricion components. Uses various measuring tools to measure size, angles, and pterns for repair, replacement, and/or modificion. Plans and lays out temples for construction and repair of components for heing, ventilion, and air conditioning duct work, kitchen equipment and exhaust hoods, and copper roof components, metal fabricions, and steel components. Checks system to determine component faults and to identify sheet metal and metal fabricion ptern requirements. Lays out, cuts out, and forms sheet metal merial according to pterns. Uses welding, riveting, soldering, mechanical fasteners, forming machines, hand-held plasma torches, MIG, TIG, and ARC welding, and other tools of the trade to join, assemble and repair sheet metal, roofing and metal fabricion components.
