We encourage initiative, independence, diversity, and personal career growth. Key responsibilities of an HVAC sheet metal fabricator:
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation: Accurately read and understand technical drawings and blueprints to determine the required dimensions and specifications for sheet metal components.
  • Metal cutting and shaping: Utilize power tools like shears, saws, and metal brakes to precisely cut and shape sheet metal according to the design.
  • Assembly and fabrication: Assemble sheet metal components into complete ductwork systems using various joining methods like welding, riveting, and seaming.
  • Duct installation: Install fabricated ductwork in designated locations within buildings, including proper hanger placement and sealing.
  • Field measurements: Take accurate measurements on-site to ensure proper fit and function of the ductwork.
  • Quality control: Inspect completed work for accuracy, proper fit, and compliance with building codes.
  • Troubleshooting and repair: Identify and repair any issues with existing HVAC ductwork.
  • Collaboration with other trades: Coordinate work with other construction professionals like electricians, plumbers, and general contractors.
