Job Title:
Sheet Metal Installer Job Description This role focuses on fabricating and installing commercial wall and roofing panels, including insulated, aluminum composite, and single-skin systems. You will work in a sheet metal fabrication shop that builds custom flashing and metal systems such as gutters, downspouts, drip edges, and coping, and then install these components on commercial projects. Responsibilities Fabricate commercial wall and roofing panels, including insulated, aluminum composite, and single-skin systems, according to project specifications and blueprints. Build custom sheet metal flashing and metal systems such as gutters, downspouts, drip edges, and coping in the fabrication shop. Install sheet metal panels and components on commercial buildings, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and weatherproofing. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project documentation to plan and complete installations accurately. Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, fasten, and secure sheet metal components. Perform riveting and other fastening methods to assemble and install sheet metal systems safely and securely. Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and adherence to safety and building standards. Collaborate with construction and installation teams to coordinate tasks and complete projects on schedule. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working at heights, on roofs, and in construction environments. Essential Skills Proven ability to perform sheet metal installation in a construction or fabrication environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings. Hands-on experience with sheet metal fabrication, including cutting, shaping, and fitting components. Proficiency using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Skill in riveting and other fastening techniques used in sheet metal work. Ability to lift 75+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods. Ability to work various hours and schedules as required by project needs. Willingness and ability to learn new tasks, tools, and installation methods. Ability to work effectively as part of diverse teams on job sites and in the shop. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience installing commercial wall and roofing panel systems, including insulated, aluminum composite, and single-skin panels. Background in construction or related trades involving installation and repair work. Familiarity with gutters, downspouts, drip edges, coping, and other exterior metal systems. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship. Reliable work ethic, with a focus on safety, punctuality, and teamwork. Why Work Here? The schedule may vary based on project requirements, and you should expect to work at heights, outdoors in different weather conditions, and in physically demanding situations that involve lifting 75+ pounds. Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to maintain a safe and professional environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $14.00 - $16.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
