The Sheet Metal Worker will fabricate, assemble, install and repair sheet metal products and equipment such as ducts in residential, commercial or industrial environments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Locate and mark position of pipe and/or duct connections and passage holes, then cut openings to accommodate pipe and/or duct fittings. Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, or smooth surfaces, seams, or joints of assembled parts, using hand tools or portable power tools.
- Install, assemble, repair and clean systems to include Heating, Ventilation and air conditioning ducts, or other sheet metal products.
- Perform layout activities, and material takeoffs as necessary
- Study building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installation.
- Promote, maintain and adhere to OSHA regulations.
Experience:
- At least 4 years of related experience.
- Experience planning and layout.
- Working experience using blueprints, technical drawings and work orders.
Requirements:
- Have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
- Have tools of the trades.
