Sheet Metal Journeyman

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sheet Metal Journeyman to join our commercial & residential construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for some fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal components with precision and expertise on jobsites. The ideal candidate will possess general to advanced knowledge of sheet metal installation techniques. Responsibilities Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements. Program CNC machines for precise cutting, shaping, and forming of sheet metal components. Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to assemble pre-fabricated parts accurately. Perform welding tasks using appropriate techniques to join sheet metal components securely. Conduct quality inspections utilizing micrometers, calipers, precision measuring instruments, and visual checks to ensure adherence to specifications. Maintain tooling, machinery calibration, and workspace organization to optimize efficiency. Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks and troubleshoot fabrication issues as they arise. Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment at all times. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Journeyman or similar role within manufacturing or fabrication industries. Proficiency in reading complex blueprints and installation techniques. Hands-on experience operating CNC equipment such as laser cutters, milling machines, lathes, stamping presses, and electrical discharge machining tools. Mechanical aptitude with strong understanding of tooling, fabrication processes, and quality inspection standards. Ability to use hand tools effectively along with precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers. Strong communication skills combined with a commitment to craftsmanship and quality.
