Lead Sheet Metal Technician
Job Description:
GAL AeroStaff Ltd. is an aerospace staffing company specializing in temporary and permanent staffing for general and technical positions in the aviation and aerospace industry.   • Lead Sheet Metal Technician (Aircraft Structures / MRO) The Lead Sheet Metal Technician is responsible for performing and overseeing structural sheet metal repairs, modifications, and installations on aircraft in a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment.
This role requires strong structural repair experience, leadership ability, and the ability to support heavy maintenance operations on widebody aircraft. Military sheet metal experience will be considered. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform structural sheet metal repairs and modifications on aircraft components and structures Lead and support sheet metal technicians during heavy maintenance and modification activities Remove, repair, and replace aircraft structural components including skins, panels, floor beams, frames, and supports Fabricate and install sheet metal parts such as brackets, doublers, and reinforcements Read and interpret SRMs, blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documentation Perform drilling, riveting, cutting, fitting, and structural assembly tasks Troubleshoot structural discrepancies and determine corrective actions Ensure all work is completed in compliance with FAA regulations and company standards Inspect completed work to ensure quality and airworthiness Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment Other duties as assigned Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Leadership

  • Diagnoses and resolves structural repair issues effectively Summary of Education, Experience & Certification High School diploma or equivalent required.
