Job Description
Position Summary We are seeking a full-time experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic to perform commercial HVAC ductwork installation on active job sites in the Richmond, Virginia area. About Kogok Corporation Kogok Corporation is a 100% employee-owned sheet metal contractor founded in 1995 by Jeff Kogok, building on a legacy that began in 1972 with Henry George Kogok Jr. What started as a small Maryland operation with three employees has grown into a 400+ person team of craftsmen, innovators, and problem-solvers. We fabricate and install high-performance mechanical systems for some of the most complex facilities in the region — from BSL-4 labs and hospitals to data centers, universities, transportation hubs, stadiums, and landmark hospitality projects. Key Responsibilities Install commercial HVAC duct systems including rectangular duct, spiral/round duct, fittings, and air devices per plans and specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and installation details; perform field layout and verify dimensions. Install and support duct systems using appropriate hangers, supports, and seismic bracing (where required). Install duct accessories such as volume dampers, fire/smoke dampers, access doors , and other specified components. Install ducted equipment such as VAVs, FCUs, Fans, Coils, AFMS, etc. Seal, secure, and finish ductwork to meet project requirements and quality standards. Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently; operate jobsite equipment and lifts as assigned. Identify field conflicts, propose solutions, and communicate changes or needed RFI's through the foreman/superintendent. Comply with all safety rules, including PPE, fall protection, and OSHA requirements. Required Qualifications 3+ years of commercial ductwork installation experience (or equivalent demonstrated ability). Strong ability to read plans and install from drawings and field conditions. Solid understanding of commercial duct installation practices (hanging, bracing, sealing, and accessory installation). Proficient with common sheet metal/HVAC installation tools and equipment. Electronic device proficiency preferred to include tablets and web-based management software. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs , work overhead, climb ladders, and work from scissor/boom lifts . Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 (OSHA 30 a plus). Experience with TDC/TDF , slip & drive, flanges, and commercial hanger systems. Experience installing fire/smoke dampers and coordinating inspections where applicable. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience.
