Job Description

Overview We are seeking a motivated and skilled Residential Solar Technician to join our dynamic team dedicated to advancing renewable energy solutions. This is a contract labor position and requires the use of your own tools and truck. Must be insured. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for troubleshooting existing solar systems that are not working, replacing or repairing all solar components, and performing quality checks on entire solar PV systems. Customer interface and communication is very important. Your expertise will help homeowners get their existing solar systems functioning optimally and get their monitoring back online . Duties Ensure that your and your fellow workers' working conditions are safe for the type of work to be performed. Remove and re-Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on residential rooftops, ensuring proper mounting, wiring, and connection of high voltage and low voltage components. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute system layouts and wiring configurations. Use hand tools, power tools, roofing equipment, and other construction site tools safely and efficiently during installation projects. Conduct system inspections, troubleshoot electrical issues, and perform repairs to optimize system performance. Coordinate with team members on construction site activities, including roofing work, plumbing connections, fixture installation, and electrical wiring. Follow National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and safety protocols to ensure all installations meet regulatory requirements. Document troubleshooting, repair, replacement, installation, system configurations, and inspection using photographs and reports accurately for project records. Qualifications Troubleshooting skills are a must have. Related training is highly desired. Manufacturer certification to work on SolarEdge, Tesla, Enphase and other solar equipment is required before work can be performed. Previous experience working as a solar electric technician - 2 years minimum. Familiarity with residential solar components and batteries is required. Hands-on experience with high voltage (HV) and low voltage electrical systems is required. Construction site experience involving roofing, plumbing, or general construction activities is advantageous. Experience with fixture installation or working on roofing projects will be considered a plus. Current OSHA training is required. Knowledge of NEC standards related to solar installations and electrical safety practices is necessary. Solar specific certifications, such as NABCEP or other continuing education are a big plus.
Pay:
$26.17 - $31.52 per hour
