SUMMARY Inspection Technicians are responsible for preparing completed solar installations for final inspection and ensuring compliance with local codes and company standards. This role includes system commissioning, software and monitoring setup, utility-specific net metering and time-of-use rate configuration, and coordination with local inspectors. Technicians communicate directly with homeowners and internal teams to provide inspection updates, resolve issues, and ensure projects are completed professionally and efficiently.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include but are not limited to: Prep completed installations for final inspection by the local building departments Verify all installations are up to City and Stellar Solar code Meet with local jurisdiction inspectors for final inspections Meet and communicate with homeowners about final inspection timelines and processes Solar, energy storage, and EV system commissioning (Tesla, Enphase, SolarEdge/LG, Emporia, Charge point), including system configuration and settings, utility export functionality, and homeowner rate plan setup based on applicable utility tariffs and net metering requirements, ensuring systems are optimized for performance, compliance, and customer financial benefit Update job site notes in Chatter daily Other tasks and duties as neededREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Solar or general construction experience preferred Comfortable using ladders and working at rooftop height Basic electrical system knowledge Willingness to continue self-education Must have a valid CA driver's license, clear driving record (MVR) and reliable transportation Strong time management skills required; highly organized and punctual Ability to work independently with minimal instruction/direction Comfortable working with a variety of technologies: smart phone, computersPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Tesla and Enphase certifications
- Experience commissioning solar and energy solar systems
- Strong understanding of plan sets, electrical code requirements and inspection processes
- Understanding of various AHJ requirements
- CPR/fall protection certifications
