Job Description
Solar Install Technician - Roof Lead We have immediate, Full time, Roof Solar Lead available at SolCore! SolCore believes in empowering team work and providing employees with an opportunity to grow professionally and personally. We are currently holding interviews for Commercial & Residential install techs. Experience with Backup Battery systems and Roofing is a huge plus! As an integral member of the team, the ideal candidate will be skilled in leading by example and work cooperatively with other team members. Be experienced and knowledgeable with installing solar and many different types of roof materials and home structure. Successfully complete the installation of residential photovoltaic solar systems, battery storage, and EV wall connectors safely and on time. The ideal candidate can lead , motivated, willing to learn, and reliable as well as clean and valid CA drivers license. Bilingual is a plus and previous construction experience is also a plus. Effectively and honestly communicate with customers during the initial face to face greeting and/or over the phone Effectively and honestly communicate with a centralized scheduling team Pre-plan job needs prior to leaving warehouse - materials and logistics Assess job site conditions upon arrival: roof planes, vents, dormers, and chimneys, access to attic structure and condition Upload site assessment documentation into cloud storage Gathers detailed installation data, including required progress and completion photos Follow Safety protocols and maintain safe environment at all times Wire management, string configurations, roof and conduit penetrations Installation of racking and solar modules Commission and connect solar via various technology platforms Capture shade readings, if necessary Maintain clean working environment during install and fully clean up after job completion Drive company vehicles from warehouse to job site, or other job related locations Roof Support, when needed Out of town, overnight stays are possible Other duties as assigned Read and understand plansets and roof diagrams Previous experience in roofing, general construction, or carpentry preferred Excellent problem-solving skills Ability to safely handle power tools and hand tools as well as materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, and roofing materials Excellent customer service skills Strong written/verbal communication skills Computer skills preferred, Tech Savvy a Plus Excellent attendance & punctuality is essential for team success Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment Ability to travel between job sites Ability to organize and maintain paper documents and electronic photos and files Must be able to work at great heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders, and stairs Must be able to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, attics etc.) Prolonged periods of repetitious duties including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds frequently Prospective employees of SolCore., must submit to a criminal history check, motor vehicles check, and obtain clearance from the state based upon local requirements. •SolCore, Inc. is proud to promote employment opportunities for our Military and Veterans.
