Job Description

About Us ES Solar is a leading provider of clean, reliable, and affordable solar energy solutions, committed to quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service, and sustainability. We are seeking motivated team members who are strong problem-solvers, communicate effectively, work well with others, and are dedicated to delivering an outstanding customer experience. Position Summary As a Commissioning Technician you will be responsible for the initial operation of the solar & or battery system and building relationships with our customers. Having a mind for diagnosing problems is a must. Sometimes we must track down an issue between the solar panels and the solar inverter and so we require someone who is willing, if needed, to get into an attic to find the problem. You must also be able to lift a 50lb inverter and set it on a wall and be comfortable handling some electrical equipment and wiring. This position will primarily be for commissioning solar but also requires customer service appointments to diagnose issues with the solar system including solar panels, batteries, and communication connections. This meeting with the customer comes at the end of the project journey. You will have the unique opportunity to build good rapport with the customer. How you communicate with the customer will either build confidence or decrease it. Like building a home, a customer has to go through several steps until their system can be fully installed and operational. You must be skilled in working with people and de-escalating customers who may be frustrated with a step in the process. You must also have a sales mindset. Customers will be happy to give you referrals if they feel like they are being taken care of. As you receive and contact those referrals you will have opportunities to set up solar appointments for possible sales. Any appointment you set that sells, you will get a commission from it on top of your hourly pay. We value good employees. ES Solar has a tradition that if we hit all our goals for the year, the company gets to go on a paid company trip. Once you have worked for a year in a full-time position, you will have the opportunity to qualify for this trip. Key Responsibilities & Qualifications Provide a great customer experience. Diagnostic skills Explain how solar works to the customer. Set expectations going forward. Help customers take advantage of the tax credits and different utility rebates that come with Must have Solar & Battery Experience or similar diagnosing experience (1+ years is ideal) Customer service skills are a must!
