Position Summary SunnyMac Solar is expanding its Service Department and is looking for an experienced Solar Service Technician who can troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system issues efficiently and correctly the first time. This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for a skilled professional who takes pride in clean workmanship, strong electrical knowledge, and delivering an exceptional homeowner experience. Duties and Responsibilitie s Troubleshoot and repair residential PV systems Diagnose inverter faults (Enphase, SolarEdge, string systems) Perform inverter replacements, MPU upgrades, breaker replacements, and surge protection installs Identify root causes of system underperformance — not just symptoms Read and interpret plansets and as-built drawings Complete service documentation accurately and thoroughly Communicate professionally and clearly with homeowners Maintain NEC-compliant, clean, and safe work environments Minimize revisit rates through proper diagnostics and quality workmanship Work efficiently to reduce drive time and maximize billable time Qualifications • Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving history. 3+ years of solar installation or service experience Strong electrical troubleshooting skills Experience working on energized systems Solid understanding of NEC requirements Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Clean driving record Professional communication skills Strong attention to detail and accountability Preferred NABCEP Certification (or actively pursuing) Prior experience in a structured service department Proven ability to reduce go-backs and escalations Leadership mindset and ability to mentor junior technicians Benefits 401k retirement plan with Roth option Dental insurance-free for "Employee Only" plan Medical insurance-free for "Employee Only" plan Vision Insurance-free for "Employee Only" plan Paid time off Disability insurance Life insurance
