License required:
Active Washington Electrical trainee card. Clean Energy Innovators is hiring an electrical trainee with solar experience to support custom residential battery backup, solar, smart load, and hybrid energy projects across the Puget Sound area. This is not production solar or routine service work. Our projects involve high-quality residential battery backup systems, solar integration, protected loads, smart load controls, generator-supported backup systems, panel work, conduit, wiring, and field problem-solving in finished homes. The work requires clean craftsmanship, attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to follow direction from experienced leads. We are looking for someone with room in their schedule for flexible, project-based work. We will contact you when project needs come up and confirm whether you are available. Some projects may be scheduled in advance, while others may require shorter notice. Once availability and scheduling are confirmed, we will commit the work to you. What you'll be doing Working under the direction of a senior electrician and senior solar installer, who will treat you with respect and take time to mentor and teach Assisting on both the electrical and solar rooftop sides of residential battery backup and solar installations Working with existing panels, backup circuits, protected loads, inverters, batteries, and related equipment Supporting smart load control and generator-integrated backup systems Helping solve layout, code, inspection, and field-condition questions Helping deliver high-quality installations that earn 5-star reviews What we're looking for Active WA residential electrical trainee card At least 1 year of residential electrical experience, 2-3+ years preferred At least 1 year of residential solar rooftop work, 2-3+ years preferred Ability to work safely, maturely respecting the hazards of rooftop and electrical work Excellent communication with team members Why this may be a strong fit This role may be a strong fit for an electrical trainee who wants to build meaningful field experience, earn hours toward licensure, and learn from highly skilled tradespeople who value good help and are willing to teach. You will not be doing the same cookie-cutter installation every day. Our projects are custom, battery-first, and designed around real homeowner backup needs. Some projects are focused on partial-home backup or solar-only installations. Others include broader whole-home backup, smart load controls, solar recharge, generator support, protected loads, and panel work. Because we are a small crew, the right person will be comfortable helping where needed, following direction closely, working safely, and taking pride in clean, careful work inside finished residential homes.
