Job Description:
We are seeking a hardworking, reliable Demolition Specialist to safely tear down and remove existing drywall, carpet, and flooring for residential and commercial renovation projects. The ideal candidate has experience with interior demolition, is capable of manual labor, and can operate hand/power tools to remove materials efficiently while keeping the job site clean and safe.
Key Responsibilities Drywall Removal:
Carefully tear down drywall on walls and ceilings, ensuring structural framing is not damaged
Flooring Removal:
Remove old flooring, including carpet, padding, tile, hardwood, vinyl, and laminate
Carpet Removal:
Cut carpet into manageable strips, remove tack strips, pull up padding, and remove staples from the subfloor
Site Preparation:
Protect surrounding areas (furniture, floors, fixtures) with plastic sheeting and prep the site for demolition
Debris Removal:
Clean up demolition debris, load it into containers or trucks, and transport materials to a designated disposal area
Safe Operation:
Safely operate hand tools (crowbars, hammers, sledgehammers) and power tools (reciprocating saws, floor scrapers)
Site Safety:
Establish exclusion zones to ensure the safety of bystanders and follow all OSHA safety protocols
Cleanup:
Mop, sweep, or vacuum subfloors to leave the site clean for new installation
Work Environment:
Ability to work in physically demanding, hot, or dusty environments. Constant bending, kneeling, lifting, and climbing on uneven surfaces.
