Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Master Tile Setter to lead tile installation projects across various construction sites. This role demands a seasoned professional with extensive experience in tile work, capable of managing complex projects from start to finish. As a Master Tile Setter, you will oversee the quality and precision of tile installation, coordinate with other trades, and ensure all work complies with safety standards and project specifications. Your expertise will help transform spaces through expert craftsmanship, delivering durable, aesthetically pleasing results that meet client expectations. Duties Lead and supervise tile installation projects, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to project timelines. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed construction plans to determine tile layout and installation procedures. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying suitable substrates for optimal tile adhesion. Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and fabrication machinery safely and efficiently during installation processes. Coordinate with construction management teams to schedule work phases, inspect ongoing work for quality control, and resolve any issues promptly. Oversee the mixing and application of mortar, grout, caulking, plastering, and other related materials to ensure proper sealing and finishing. Install fixtures such as trims, moldings, glass panels, cabinets, doors, and other elements that complement tile work. Conduct construction inspection to verify compliance with safety standards and project specifications; utilize Bluebeam software for digital documentation. Manage site safety protocols during tile installation activities while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Mentor junior team members in proper techniques for tile laying, cutting, fabrication, and finishing. Skills Extensive experience in tile laying with a strong understanding of various materials including ceramic, porcelain, stone, glass, and mosaic tiles. Proficiency in blueprint reading and schematics interpretation for precise layout planning. Skilled in using hand tools such as trowels, cutters, levels; power tools including saws and drills; heavy equipment operation when necessary. Knowledge of construction management principles to coordinate multiple trades effectively on site. Familiarity with construction estimating processes for material needs and project planning. Experience with concrete forming, masonry, plastering, stucco application, roofing prep work, flooring installation, framing carpentry, drywall finishing, welding basics, restoration projects, fixture installation (including cabinetry), window glass installation, door hanging techniques, painting prep work & finishing touches. Strong understanding of plumbing systems and electrical schematics relevant to tile-related installations. Ability to operate Bluebeam software for digital plan review and documentation purposes. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail to ensure flawless results on every project.
