Job Description
Cultivating Kindness Landscape & Design is seeking highly skilled, professional hardscape and landscape construction installers for upcoming project-specific work in Olympia and the surrounding area. This is a temporary, project-based position for experienced individuals who can step into high-end residential and commercial landscape construction work with professionalism, attention to detail, and strong production ability. There may be future opportunities with CKLD for the right person or crew. We are specifically looking for installers with real-world experience in high-quality hardscape construction, paver patios, retaining/sitting walls, firepit areas, outdoor living spaces, water features, grading, gravel installation, and detailed finish work.
Upcoming project work may include:
High-end residential outdoor living space installation Large paver patio installation Curved paver layouts and flowing circulation pathways Firepit area installation Sitting wall construction Retaining wall / wall block installation Pondless waterfall or water feature installation Boulder placement and natural stone detailing Decomposed granite pathways Drainage-aware grading and base preparation Planting bed integration within hardscape areas Outdoor lighting support Drip irrigation support Commercial grading and gravel yard preparation Skid steer support, scraping, grading, spreading gravel, and compaction Required Experience:
Must have proven experience in one or more of the following: Paver patio installation Hardscape base preparation and compaction Wall block installation Sitting walls or retaining walls Firepit kits or custom firepit areas Outdoor living construction Pondless waterfalls, streams, or pond/water feature installation Boulder and rock placement Drainage-aware grading Decomposed granite or gravel pathway installation Commercial gravel spreading, grading, and compaction Working safely around equipment and job sites Preferred Skills:
Ability to read and follow site layout direction Experience with Belgard, Western Interlock, Mutual Materials, or similar paver/block systems Experience with plate compactors, saw cutting, laser levels, string lines, and base prep Experience assisting with skid steer production Ability to set clean grades and maintain professional finish standards Knowledge of PNW landscape construction conditions, drainage, clay soils, roots, and forested properties Ability to work efficiently without constant supervision Professional communication with clients and crew members Reliable transportation and ability to show up on time What We Are Looking For:

The right person understands that high-end hardscape work requires patience, precision, proper base prep, clean cuts, drainage awareness, and strong attention to detail. You should be comfortable working outdoors, lifting heavy materials, working around machinery, and maintaining a professional job site. Valid driver's license preferred Reliable transportation required Ability to lift heavy materials Ability to work outdoors in changing weather Must be dependable and professional Must be able to follow directions and work safely Must have prior hands-on experience in hardscape or landscape construction Must be willing to work as part of a crew and respect CKLD standards About Cultivating Kindness Landscape & Design:
