Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Weatherization Technician to join our team, committed to improving energy efficiency and safety in residential and commercial buildings. The technician will perform a variety of weatherization and construction tasks, utilizing technical skills and mechanical knowledge to enhance building performance. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to sustainable initiatives while developing expertise in various construction disciplines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and blueprint reading, ensuring high-quality work that meets safety standards and client expectations. Duties Conduct comprehensive weatherization assessments and prepare work plans based on schematics and blueprints. Install insulation, caulking, weatherstripping, and sealing materials to improve energy efficiency. Utilize hand tools and power tools for tasks such as framing, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and masonry work. Perform construction-related activities including roofing, plastering, stucco application, and concrete finishing. Read schematics and mechanical drawings to accurately execute installation procedures for HVAC systems or other mechanical components. Fabricate custom components or modifications using appropriate tools and techniques. Apply construction painting techniques and utilize airless paint spraying equipment for finishing projects. Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and properly handling equipment. Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while ensuring quality standards are met. Assist in estimating project costs and material needs based on project scope. Experience Prior experience in construction site work or related trades such as carpentry, roofing, masonry, or HVAC is highly desirable. Demonstrated proficiency with construction estimating, blueprint reading, and schematics interpretation. Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, and fabrication equipment. Knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC components and metal stud framing techniques. Familiarity with various construction disciplines such as plastering, stucco application, concrete finishing, and masonry work. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read technical drawings and schematics accurately. Experience working on diverse construction projects that require attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
