Reference checks Background check Drug screening Job Overview We are a growing local chimney and fireplace service company seeking a reliable, hardworking Assistant Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, working outdoors, and learning a skilled trade. You'll work alongside a Lead Technician assisting with chimney cleanings, inspections, repairs, and fireplace services—helping keep our customers' homes safe. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. This role offers a clear path for advancement, with increasing responsibility and performance- based earnings as your skills grow. Schedule Full-Time Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Occasional weekend work available Compensation & Growth $25/hour base pay Performance and Bonus pay Profit sharing opportunities Clear advancement path (Assistant Technician → Technician → Lead Technician) We reward strong performance and accountability. Benefits Health insurance reimbursement (QSEHRA) Paid holidays Paid time off Paid training and ongoing professional development Key Responsibilities Chimney Cleaning & Maintenance Clean chimneys, fireplaces, flues, and venting systems using specialized tools Remove soot, creosote, debris, and obstructions (e.g., nests) Protect customer homes using drop cloths, shoe covers, and proper containment methods Inspection & Assessment Assist with Level 1, 2, and 3 chimney inspections Identify structural issues, leaks, and drafting problems Ensure systems meet safety and building code standards Customer Interaction Communicate directly with homeowners Clearly explain findings, recommended repairs, and maintenance Provide guidance on fire safety and proper appliance use Repair & Installation Support Assist with masonry repairs, damper replacement, and chimney cap installation Chimney flue relining and appliance installations A large variety of work associated with chimneys and fireplace/stoves Documentation & Safety Accurately document work, inspections, and invoices Follow all company safety protocols at all times Responsibilities will expand as you grow within the company. Qualifications Experience 1+ year in chimney, construction, HVAC, or related field preferred Entry-level candidates welcome (training provided) Skills & Requirements Comfortable working at heights and on roofs Ability to work in confined spaces occasionally (attics, crawl spaces) Able to lift and carry equipment (75 pounds) Strong attention to detail and cleanliness Good communication and customer service skills Valid driver's license and insurable driving record required (assistant techs do most of the daily driving of company vehicles). Work Standards & Expectations Safety is non-negotiable Failure to follow safety protocols will result in disciplinary action and may lead to termination. -Everyone goes home safely! We wear helmets on all roofs, scaffolding... etc. No smoking or vaping in company vehicles, on company property, or around customers property Ongoing paid training is part of the job (daily/weekly/monthly) Earning industry related certifications is required for continued employment.
