Job Description

Armed Healthcare Protection Officer About the Role We are seeking experienced Armed Healthcare Protection Officers to join our team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. In this role, you will help protect patients, staff, and visitors while responding to security incidents and supporting a safe, healing environment. You should have a background in security within military, corrections, or law enforcement and should be comfortable working in high-stakes situations and making quick, sound decisions. What You'll Do Patrol hospital and medical center facilities (interior and exterior) Monitor high-risk areas and proactively prevent incidents Respond to emergencies, including violent incidents and Code Silver events De-escalate conflicts and intervene when necessary Assist medical staff with patient restraint when required Enforce facility rules and control access to restricted areas Detain or arrest individuals when appropriate and legally justified Write detailed incident and activity reports Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders
What We're Looking For Required:
High school diploma or GED Prior Law enforcement, Military, or corrections experience Valid armed security license (per state requirements) Strong communication and decision-making skills Ability to stay calm and professional in high-pressure situations Willingness to work in a healthcare setting Must pass a physical ability test (PAT) and medical evaluation
Preferred:
5+ years of healthcare security experience Bachelor's degree (or higher) Certifications such as CPP or IAHSS Experience in de-escalation, training, or crisis response Physical Requirements Ability to run, climb stairs, and respond quickly to emergencies Ability to physically restrain individuals when necessary Maintain fitness standards as a condition of employmentVeterans Inter-Con is passionate about hiring veterans.
