Qualifications:

Active PA Art K-12 certification is required. Bachelor's and/or Master's in Education is required. Experience in 2D & 3D Art preferred Our K-12

The School District of Springfield Township Visual Arts program is dedicated to offering inclusive, equitable, and accessible K-12 Art programming to all of its students through a Culturally Responsive pedagogy that is grounded in the National Visual Arts Standards. We foster in our students art appreciation, skill building and craftsmanship through experiences in a variety of disciplines including 2 dimensional, 3 dimensional, and digital arts while investigating and exploring diverse historical and contemporary references from across the globe. We help our students develop complex concepts and ideas through personal visual expressions as individual artists, and within their communities through exhibitions, public art installations, as well as connections to future career opportunities in the arts.

Description:

The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. SDST is committed to diversity in our workplace and welcomes the opportunity to consider all candidates. We are seeking a new member of our High School Art Department , working with students in grades 9-12. Our art department strives to provide rich and varied creative experiences to all learners in our high school. The new member of our team will collaborate in providing an array of art courses in both 2D and 3D mediums. Candidates can learn more about our visual arts program by checking out our STHS Program of Studies . The successful candidate will add to our building and district team working to increase and expand our application of our visual arts vision. In our STHS Visual Arts Department , members are expected to: Create instructional spaces that highlight student discussion, advocacy and critique. Construct student-centered classrooms and environments. Foster student relationships to promote peer review and feedback of art work. Support students in creating artwork with personal inspirtation relevant to their interests, values, and personal vision. Plan, prepare, and deliver standards-based instruction in alignment with our Profile of a Graduate. Design learning experiences which meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students. Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments. Create a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional learning. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities. Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events. Terms of employment:

Full-time, contracted position to be determined in accordance with the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement. Position to begin at the start of the 2026-2027 school year on August 24, 2026. Please note that induction will be the week of August 17th.
