Part-time, Internship Job Description & Duties:
Working closely with artist Joseph La Piana in his studio, helping create and aid in the creative processes pertaining to his distinct bodies of work. As an artist assistant, you are expected to be very organized, responsible, disciplined, detailed, professional, and deadline oriented.
Responsibilities include:
Managing multiple projects at various stages Interpreting trends and translating art into layouts for production, sculptures, public installations and for design projects relating to furniture, objects and lighting. Creating visually sharp prototypes and three-dimensional mock-ups Creating production ready technical drawings to be sent for fabrication and manufacturing Creating new and updating existing bodies of work into keynotes and PDFs that will be presented to clients through an iPad Uploading material onto website as well as updating current news and selected press Updating address books and email lists for sending mass emails via artlogic. Documenting current and existing artwork, maintaining an up-to-date inventory Artlogic Following up on emails and phone calls with clients and customers to maintain a friendly and professional rapport Ordering supplies, maintaining a clean and organized work environment Inputting expenses into Excel and filing receipts Requirements include: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign Creative Cloud SolidWorks, CAD, Rhino, Alias, or any equivalent 3D Software knowledge is a must Strong 3D rendering and technical drawing ability, model-making skills for fabrication Must be able to take projects from concept to manufacturing Strong oral and written skills as well as customer service Effective problem solver who can work with minimal supervision Proficiency in
