Job Description
Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Discover an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact as a Sign Language Interpreter in a supportive school environment near Haverhill, MA. This full-time, contract position is available for an immediate start and covers both a five-week Extended School Year (ESY) period and the upcoming academic year. You'll collaborate closely with dedicated Teachers of the Deaf (TOD) and work with students utilizing FM systems and cochlear implants.
What You'll Need:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL), with strong interpreting skills Experience supporting students in educational settings Familiarity with students using cochlear implants and FM systems Ability to collaborate with educators and related service providers Professionalism, adaptability, and excellent communication abilities Relevant certification and credentials as aSign Language Interpreter What You'll Do:
Provide clear and accurate interpretation between spoken English and ASL Support student participation in classroom instruction, activities, and discussions Work alongside the TOD to implement communication supports Foster a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive learning environment Promote student confidence and engagement Assist in adapting communications to match student needs and technology use Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school protocolsWhy You'll Love This Role:
