Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Support students' communication and learning in a rewarding educational environment by bringing your expertise as a Sign Language Interpreter to schools just south of Atlanta. This full-time, contract opportunity is ideal for interpreters eager to help create accessible, inclusive classrooms for elementary and high school students. We're seeking two skilled professionals to provide interpreting services throughout the academic week, ensuring deaf or hard-of-hearing students can fully participate in all aspects of school life. Assignments are available in both elementary and high school settings, allowing you to work with a range of age groups and developmental stages.
Qualifications:
EIPA score of at least 3.5 required Eligible for the GaPSC Educational Interpreter Certificate Experience providing sign language interpretation in school settings is highly preferred Flexibility to work at multiple grade levels (elementary and high school) Strong collaboration and communication skills with teachers, staff, and families
Responsibilities:
Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, assemblies, and extracurricular events Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers in ASL and English Support individualized education plans and adapt interpreting style to students' needs Maintain professional and ethical interpreting standards and confidentiality Collaborate with educators and support staff to foster student success
