Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting a high school freshman for the entire upcoming school year. This full-time contract opportunity begins in early August and offers the chance to create a real impact in a student's educational journey. This 1:1 interpreter assignment places your skills and dedication front and center, helping ensure accessibility, inclusion, and success in a dynamic classroom environment. You'll be valued as a crucial team member, collaborating with faculty and building meaningful connections throughout the year.
Qualifications and Experience:
Current EIPA score of at least 3.5 (required) Willingness to obtain GaPSC interpreter licensure prior to or upon hire Experience in K-12 school settings, preferably with individual or small group assignments Strong communication and interpersonal abilities Professionalism and reliability in a school environment Commitment to fostering an inclusive educational experience
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct American Sign Language interpretation for a high school freshman in all classroom activities and school functions Facilitate clear communication between student, teachers, and peers Accurately interpret lectures, discussions, instructions, and social interactions Support the student's educational participation and engagement throughout the day Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards at all times
